AtWill’s favorite facts about Porto! Today: the electric tram.
… that Porto was the first city in the Iberian Peninsula to use an eletric tram, back in 1895?
Nowadays, Porto has three different tram lines with almost 9 km of extension. They are:
- Line 1: connects the Ribeira (in front of São Francisco Church) with the Foz area (ending at Passeio Alegre);
- Tram line 18: starts at Cordoaria Garden, near the University Rectory building, and goes to Massarelos neighborhood (close to the Electric Tram Museum);
- Line 22: connects the Cordoaria Garden with the area known as Guindais, near Batalha Square.
One way ticket for a tram ride cost 3€, but you can buy a 10€ ticket that is valid for 2 days. Another option is to join us for a Historical Porto Tram tour, which combines a walking tour in the city center with a 2-days ticket for all the tram lines. It is a great way to explore Porto with confort!
