São Bartolomeu Festival – A traditional fishermen festival set up in the Foz area, on the sea of the city! This event has different things going on but its highest points are the food fair and the Paper Costumes parade on the 27th August! Until this Sunday you can enjoy typical dishes like Francesinhas, grilled meats, sausages and the amazing variety of Portuguese canned fishes! If you are watching the parade don´t be surprised when everyone jumps into the ocean…it is a tradition still followed! And a very fun way to end your morning!

The food fair “Sabores de São Bartolomeu” it’s at Esplanada do Castelo from Mondays to Fridays from 6 pm to midnight. On weekends it’s open from noon until midnight!

The Paper Costumes parade takes place on Sunday 27th starting at 10h30 am. It goes from Cantareira to the Ourigo Beach.

The amazing Serralves Museum is always a good option to visit! At the moment, they are hosting many different shows. At the Villa, you can see Nick Mauss’ first solo exhibition in Portugal, Intricate Others. In the museum, you can see Julie Mehrethu’s paintings and drawings, in the exhibition A Universal History of Anything and Nothing. Also, selected works of the museum’s collection from the group show Serralves Collection: 1960-1980. And Splitting, Cutting, Writing, Drawing, Eating…  presents the work of one of the most important artists from the 1970’s, Gordon Matta-Clark. And don´t forget that this weekend is your last chance to see the night installations of the “There´s Light in the Park” program!
