One of the most important events is coming back this September. Porto’s book fair is taking place at Palácio de Cristal gardens from the 2nd to the 18th of September. This edition is going to pay homage to Mario Claudio, a Porto native writer.
This year Porto’s office is in charge of the organization of the fair getting 131 stands to be present. Some of the representative’s stands are going to be there for the first time. The secret to attract so many visitors every year is to have the editors, institutions and second hand booksellers all mingling between books, in the beautiful Lime Tree Avenue.
Porto Town Hall says this year we’ll have 69 editors, 26 bookshops, 16 second hand bookstores, 12 institutions and 8 distributors. For the first time selling their best books at the fair are the famous bookstore Lello and the Chiado Editora.
This year the fair will be open Sunday to Thursday from 12pm until 21pm. At Fridays and Saturdays the fair closes at 23pm. This is an event you can’t miss!
