Our weekend goals for the upcoming days are here!
This autumn weather is perfect to get around Porto and see what is going on!
As usual, Porto’s flea markets take place this weekend! This time we suggest the Mercado da Alegria in the Passeio Alegre in Foz. In this beautiful romantic garden by the sea you will find all sort of stuff: clothes, decoration pieces, toys, books, records, jeweler, etc! It’s happening on Sunday 27th of November!
“Eyes wide open! 100 anos de fotografia Leica” or 100 years of Leica Photography. This exhibition will be on display from 30th of November until 5th of February, in the City Gallerie at Crystal Palace Gardens. Entrance is free, and you can’t miss it!
Focusing on the collection and history of the Leica Company, and also on its presence in Portugal, this exposition will show us a huge number of images that crossed the XX century and got to our days.
Some of the iconic names of Photography will be present in this show, such as Nobuyoshi Araki, Julia Baier, Oskar Barnack, René Burri, Robert Capa, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Gérard Castello-Lopes, François Fontaine, Bruce Gilden, Eva Kemlein, Saul Leiter, Susan Meiselas, Paulo Nozolino, Victor Palla, Alexander Rodtschenko ou Christer Strömholm, and others.
Christmas is just around the corner and Porto is getting ready for it…So from this weekend on, you will be able to see a lot of window decorations! In fact, Christmas decorations are so important for the city that this year we will have a contest! 111 shops will participate and until the 9th of December, a jury will decide the winners! Meanwhile you can appreciate all the beauty and hard work that these decorations show! See here the list of the shops that are on the contest.
Hope you like our tips and weekend goals! Don’t forget: call AtWill and book a personalized tour! That away we can show all the events that are happening in the city and much more of Porto!
